With 2024 now well underway, we’re excited for another year of spreading the good word of Smokin’ Ugly to the masses.
And to get things rolling, we’ll have a presence at a pair of events that are fast approaching – The Great American Outdoor Show and the NBBQA Conference.
Jody Osgood, one of our regional sales managers, will be attending the pair – a first for him on both counts.
The NBBQA Conference 2024
A bit of a departure from the standard trade show, the 2024 Annual NBBQA (National Barbecue & Grilling Association) Conference, is slated for Jan. 31 to Feb. 3 in San Antonio, with Jody attending on Feb. 1
The conference offers a blend of educational sessions, networking opportunities, and culinary experiences. Headlining NBBQA 2024 and delivering its keynote address is Tuffy Stone, the “professor of barbecue.” In addition, the conference will feature plenty of other expert-led sessions on topics like BBQ sauces, modern kitchen equipment, and food photography.
What We’ll Be Up to at The NBBQA Conference
For us, this conference is all about networking and connecting on all things Smokin’ Ugly.
From our ugly drum smoker accessories and components to our grills, we can’t wait to connect with fellow attendees and BBQ experts and talk Smokin’ Ugly. If there’s one thing we know about BBQ and meat smoking, it’s that there’s a huge & dedicated community of enthusiasts involved in it. Through our various products, we’ve gotten to experience this first-hand, whether it’s with those who are about the DIY experience with a drum smoker or the backyard grill masters & pizza chefs who don’t discriminate where they cook.
Perhaps our biggest point of pride going into the show is our latest news: We’ll soon be offering DIY drum smoker sets – complete with 55-gallon barrels. Stay tuned for more details.
The Great American Outdoor Show 2024
The Great American Outdoor Show is the largest event of its kind.
The nine-day show is slated from Feb. 3-11 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pa., with Jody attending on Feb. 8. Celebrating hunting, fishing, and various outdoor activities, the show is set to feature over 1,000 exhibitors, encompassing a wide range of interests from shooting manufacturers to outfitters, and including fishing boats, RVs, archery, and art.
In addition to the extensive range of exhibitors, the show offers a variety of interactive events and activities, such as:
- 3D Bowhunter Challenge
- Fishing lessons
- The Dock Dog Challenge
- More than 200 educational seminars
- Meet-and-greets with various outdoors celebrities and personalities.
What We’ll Be Up to At the Great American Outdoor Show
The great outdoors is one of our favorite things, and Jody is looking forward to connecting with vendors and attendees at the show.
In fact, our entire line of Smokin’ Ugly products is designed in part with the outdoors in mind, whether it’s for giving people another way to enjoy their time outside or producing American-made products that more than withstand the elements.
In particular, we point to our TG Series Grill. Made of stainless steel, this portable grill goes where you go. Camping, hiking, tailgating, or even just your backyard? No problem. And the TG is more than a grill. With a few simple adjustments, it can be converted to a griddle or pizza oven.
We’re also looking forward to connecting with attendees and vendors about products from our parent company, Weber Knapp. A motion control solutions provider, Weber Knapp designs and manufactures hinges and other products that have found their way into plenty of applications outdoors. For instance, they’ve worked with several RV and camper manufacturers to develop custom cabinet hinges. Its counterbalance technology has other applications in RVs and campers to save space or improve ergonomics.
The Lift Gate Assistant for flip-up countertops can be found in many outdoor spaces at bars and restaurants.
Two Events | Two Great Opportunities to Connect
Looking ahead to both shows, we couldn’t think of a better way to kick off this year’s trade show circuit for Smokin’ Ugly. Who can argue with talking about meat smoking and barbecue amongst thousands who are into it as well? We hope to connect with you there!
